Senior Stakeholder Engagement Manager is a strategic and implementing position, connecting with diverse stakeholders. S/he will lead key engagement sectors, interface with senior level USP Convention Member representatives, collaborate with colleagues across USP helping to build a connected Convention Membership community through strategic approaches, meaningful content and well-executed tactics that grow engagement and help inform and strengthen USP s public health mission.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead engagement with one or more stakeholder sectors, building an engaged and connected community, primarily with professional associations and societies representing healthcare practitioners.
  • Serve as the engagement lead for healthcare practitioner professional organizations, supporting mission critical initiatives through strategic and effective engagement tactics with groups representing physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other disciplines.
  • Develop a strategic plan that will build and sustain engagement with Convention members, that balances priorities, flexes to account for different objectives and engagement preferences, and evolves to meet shifting objectives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to incorporate the right perspectives, knowledge and expertise into planning and implementation of engagement activities.
  • Conceptualize and implement engagement activities that include but are not limited to curating content, facilitating multi-stakeholder dialog, leading the development of co-created content, and planning in-person and virtual events.
  • Capture insights on Convention Membership and apply learnings to engagement approach and tactics.
  • Measure success of Convention Member engagement by setting objectives, identifying KPIs, tracking progress and adjusting appropriately.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in relevant field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a relevant trade association or in public affairs role in industry or consulting.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in strategic external relationship management.

Skills Sought

  • Experience working with healthcare practitioner professional associations and societies especially pharmacy related

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated application of engagement best practices in the health and science space.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects at once while maintaining focus on outcomes.
  • Agility - comfortable with change, adapting to new processes, objectives or tactics.
  • Curiosity - desire to grow understanding of issues, of Convention Membership, of functions within USP.
  • Well-honed organizational, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and listening skills.
  • Strength in collaboration and ability to influence and inspire in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong writing skills for a variety of audiences.
